No, really! I can handle the truth!

So I've been floating around attempting to prove or disprove certain claims that have been made about Sen. Obama's relationship and interaction with Mr. Odenga from the Kenyan missionaries. These people may (or may not) be looney toons, but they may be basing "some" of their information on facts. With a simple email I can't tell either way. I just want to know the verifiable truth of the following without all the vitriolic banter:

1. Did Obama send Odenga a million dollars? And if so, can it be tied to his campaign?
2. Who can verify the authenticity of Odenga's claim that Obama is his cousin? (not horribly critical, but further cements theories and motives.)
3. When Obama went to Kenya to "meet with his family" did he or did he not stump with/for Odenga and if not what was that picture of the two of them on stage about?
4. Has the story of whether or not Obama called Odenga twice during Obama's campaign trail to discuss things about Odenga's failed presidential bid?

I'm not saying what happened either way on any of these four questions. I'm simply asking them with no intended implications....yet. I like to know the verifiable facts, not pontifications. Thanks.

Blogs That Suck

You know, I keep cutting back on the good ol' blogroll lately. Many of the people up there now have been friends for a while, but the more I look at what they say the more I don't like the way they write. Sure, I think they're all good people at heart, but most of them appear to have fallen into "the format".

The Format
Make a brief intro to an article.
Link the article
Highlight a clip of the article to pontificate on.
Foam at the mouth for a while.

I'm pretty much done with this sort of thing. Nothing gets done with it and no new ideas come to light from it. All this organizing and showing solidarity doesn't actually do anything. It just makes like minded people feel better about themselves.

So I'm now out there looking for blogs that actually build a case on facts and don't jump to conclusions about things when all the facts aren't available. It's few and far between that I can find one like that nowadays. People tend to look at what everyone else is doing and make something similar.

I am personally dissatisfied with that format. It tends to make an affront against people with differing opinions and does nothing for a dialogue of any sorts. There is either with or against. (Apologies for the Pres. Bush pun.) So what I'm vowing is to try and link only open bloggers that gather all the information to come to specific and correct conclusions, not bandwagoners and die-hards. I will also link those with ideas that come from their very own heads, not some regurgitated Dittohead/KOSsack concept. I will do my best to stick to that standard as well.

Thank you for understanding. I think these things are what has been destroying the blogosphere for me.

Change I Can't Believe!

It's time we took things to the root of Obama's campaign. Enough talk of him being a Muslim terrorist who hates America with an atheist wife. Enought talk of his pastor of 20 years being the black form of Hunter S. Thompson. "Change You Can Believe In" needs to be addressed in full.

This "change" has always come up as a vague reference to what he's going to do to America once he's president. He has not clearly defined what this change will be, only that things will change. Well, he's left it in the hands of other people, which is always a bad choice. Well, bad for him at least.

One thing we do know is that he intends to raise taxes. He also intends to add a mess of social programs that will further suck money from our wallets. So much so that all we will have left...is change.

Okay, so I'm a few days late with this, but it's still the end of an era for many super-geeks that used to hang out in their parent's basement playing Dungeons and Dragons. Gary Gygax, one of the main creators of this pioneer fantasy role playing game has died from natural causes and MIT has immortalized him temporarily with a large, 20-sided die on campus. I hope that it gets replaced with a granite one someday.

Don't Blog Angry

So instead of listening to the "speech to end all speeches" I read it. I wasn't enamored by Barack Houssein Obama's flourished speech patterns. I wasn't entranced by his gaze into the future. I was distraught by the words he and his staff chose to put on paper. There are just too many pieces of verbal queues, subtle innuendos and direct contradictions bordering on flat out lies that I just don't want to tackle it right now. I'd like to rip him to shreds over it, but I won't. I couldn't if I wanted to. I don't have that kind of ear in my readership to rip much more than my pants.

Once the Democratic Nominee has been decided I'll be prepared to fully focus my efforts and not effect the civil war going on in the Democratic party. It's just so horribly and deliciously destructive.

So right now I'll just visit those on and off my blogroll and see whats going on in your neck of the woods.

Dear Republicans,

Please do not attack Barack Houssein Obama....yet. Yes, we have the means and wherewithal to pummel him about the head and shoulders for the incendiary comments of his 20 year spiritual mentor. We should have the strategic mindset to understand that it would be a mistake to do so right now.

Obama has control of the black Democrat vote. They will more than likely follow him with little to no regard of what his pastor does or says. They are devoted to him. However, Obama holds another group of people that can be swayed or discouraged from voting. He has the youth vote. Now the youth vote, through the words of his "spiritual mentor" can be swayed to vote for Hillary or just plain not vote. Either way, Hillary wins the Democratic nomination.

So what does this have to do with Republicans pounding this home? Blame. If Republicans hammer this home it will be the fault of the GOP. The big evil war machine will be to blame once again and people will flock to Hillary. However, if we let Hillary take on the responsibility of full assault the GOP will be free and clear. The black vote will become disenfranchised by Hillary and will either not vote or vote Republican.

So, to clarify, let Hillary soil herself with the dirty work of destroying Obama and let the GOP remain the clean alternative.

How Can I Support McCain

I know the Republican thing to do would be to get in line behind McCain and push him through because he's the choice of the people. Well, I'm having a very hard time with just what "Republican" is all about these days. After countless infomercials and cosponsored bills with Ted Kennedy (D) I'm having a very hard time coming to grips with just what "Republican" is. What does McCain have to offer in the way of securing our borders? How does he plan to handle the attack on private health care? How do I support a candidate that doesn't agree with most of the primary purposes of the "Republican" party?

...and he's mean.

Can someone give me valid reasons to support him? Please help!

Adm. Fallon Resigns. HOORAY!

There are many people debating or not Fallon's resignation is yet another sign that this administration stinks. Personally, I don't even care about that. I just happy he's gone. He had a crap sense of security and no clue what information warfare means. He would frequently bully computer people into permitting him to do things even though they grossly violated network security. I once had his aid apologize to me because he was suck an ignorant ass.

Was he a great commander? Maybe in his time, but in the ever changing world of security he was an absolute failure. If he'd have done the same things he did a Pacom 20 years ago he'd have been reduced to Seaman Recruit and booted from the military. Being someone that had to assist in cleanups on a near weekly basis for his command's messes I am intimately familiar with his lack of security.

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if the link'd WaPo article was absolutely true about how worthless he was. I, for one, am happy he is resigning. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Eliot Spitzer is "Client 9". Who's 1-8?

In a move bringing him closer to the Clinton family, Eliot Spitzer has been brought up on charges of soliciting prostitution. Good old, "client 9" from what reports say. Yep, a nice fat black eye for Democrats. Big deal. Compromising yourself in this manner isn't a Democrat or Republican issue. It happens across the board. It's not going to be over any time soon either. It's long past being a D/R game of gotcha. It loosens my faith in government at the roots to see so many who've been entrusted "by the people, for the people" turn out this way.

So anyway, if Eliot Spitzer is Client 9 who are Clients 1 through 8? Are they going by a ranking structure? Would 1 through 8 be more powerful than Spitzer? Is Slick Willy on the list?

Of course, I highly doubt any reporter will ask who the others are, and I doubt even more anyone would tell them if they asked. Maybe a freedom of information act request would do it?

My Sitemeter is showing a pitiful one hit average per day. My ratings absolutely stink.

This is a prime time to show everyone exactly how to market one's self.

So here's what's going to happen. I'm going to show you, the blogging public at large how to win friends and influence people. No, I'm not going to crush Daily Kos in a single blow, but I am going to show you how to pull around 200 or more hits per day with maybe an hour of work per day. I'm not going to give you everything in one shot either. That's a tactic for giving you a gigantic traffic spike that may actually leave you with less readers at the end than more.

I am horribly unhappy with what is available from either party. All three choices suck in my opinion. You get a choice between selling out to Kenya (Obama), China (Clinton) or everyone (McCain). It's a lose, lose, lose situation.

In the end I'll probably suck it up, hold my nose and vote for McCain, but I won't be holding him up on my shoulders.

An Open Letter to Peaceful Islamists

Dear Peaceful Islamist,

I an writing you today because the human race needs your help. You are in a unique position to save the lives of thousands upon thousands of people. You see, there are Islamists, unlike yourself, that have chosen the path of violence and death. They do not care who they kill. Every infidel, like myself, is a victory and every Islamist, like you, becomes a martyr in a jihad you do not believe in.

Now you may be asking yourself, "why should I stand up against my own brothers, my Imam even, to protect infidels, the non-believers?" Well, it is because with every "non-believer" your brother kills it makes another bunch of non-believers mad enough to kill an islamist and they can't tell the violent ones from the peaceful ones. The ones that don't turn to violence against you will forever be jaded against you. They will see you in the same light as they see those that have twisted the word of Mohammed to suit their own purpose. They'll see you as no more deserving than them because you had the opportunity to do good but did not act from your cowardice. The longer things continue the worse it will become. The more jaded against you people will become.

So here is where I ask the favor. This will be the hardest thing for you to do. It is you who must stop the killing. It is you who must become active and speak out against the bombings, the terrorism. It is you who must find the courage to speak out against your Imam that threatens the lives of others. And if you can't convince them not to kill it is you who must turn in your own brother.

It is no simple favor that I ask but please hear me through. Would a true borther put you in that situation? Would he force you to choose between his misguided actions or the lives of others? I say to you that his is not your brother. He becomes the serpent who does nothing but evil. He laughs at you for your weakness and flaunts it every moment he plans to strike out. He means to make you impotent. He has already shunned you as his brother.

Some may ask me why I chose to speak to you this way. Why do you even ask people to do something so difficult? I say it because if I can help one person make a decision that helps other than hurts it is worth a thousand letters. If I can convince one person to stop an act of violent jihad then whatever the price it will be worth it. I ask you, dear peaceful Islamist, please, be that person who makes a difference. Be the one that helps your true peaceful brothers.

An Immigration Bill That Works

Raven over at And Rightly So just got me riled up on immigration. There are so many great ideas on the subject that are being blatantly ignored by anybody who's ever touched a lobbyist. Let me post a few. Feel free to throw in your one cent after taxes. I'll add your ideas to the list and we can make our own little immigration bill, right here.

1. A government funded and advertised hotline to report businesses that use illegal aliens.

2. An excalating, mandatory fine rate for businesses that hire illegals:
- 1st: $10,000 fine
- 2nd: $50,000 fine and 30 days in jail for the establishment owner
- 3rd: $100,000 fine, 1 year in jail and a revocation of the business license

3. build the damned fence. Stop saying it's coming and do it.

4. Escalate the real-ID act. Ensure no illegal can ever get one. Make it biometric enabled. Make businesses use it exclusively.

5. Reduce the time required (and cost required) to obtain a "green card".

6. Create a functional "Workfare" program. (It's viable if done right. If you need more of an explanation just let me know in comments.)

7. Greatly increase the ammount of "legal" immigrants allowed from bordering countries, mainly Mexico.

8. Require "real-ID" when sending money outside of the country.

9. U.S. Military reservist authorization for AT time (Your two weeks a year) to be in support of the border patrol.

10. Create and enforce (aka, kick them out when done) a guest worker program with full documentation.
10a. Make it so employers can pay people minimum wage. No extra crap for anything. The way it stands now they have to pay for their housing and other stuff.

11. Welfare, medicare, food stamps or any other charitable government services shall not be provided to non-U.S. citizens with the following exceptions:

a. The individual has been working legally and paying taxes for greater than one
year. The individual also needs to have maintained residence in the U.S. for
greater than one year with only USCIS authorized breaks in residency for not
more than two weeks within the afforementioned one contiguous year.
aa.
Individuals meeting these requirements will be considered for charitable
government services at the single with no dependencies rate unless dependents
are U.S. citizens, met the charitable government services requirements
themselves or lived legally and contiguously in the U.S. for no less than five
years.
b. Have been granted assylum from their country in the U.S. and would
not normally be considered criminals in the U.S. if they had done the same
things here as they had done abroad.
c. Special circumstances not previously
mentioned and on a case by case basis. Authorization for an individual can only
be given by the President, Governors, Senators, Congresspersons and the supreme
court. Authorization of an individual in a certain circumstance does not set
president for future authorizations.

I could go into some diatribe about how porn is taking over the internet but that would be anoying. I'm not holier than thou. I like boobies and stuff. The thing that bothers me is the exploiting of the system to get the site there.

What's in a name?

Actually there's a lot in a name. It tells people who you are and what you're about. This holds true especially for anything on the internet. Create a name too obscure or spelled wrong and nobody will find you. Mislead people with your name and you'll attract the wrong type of web browsers. A name is important.

Some of you already know me by my real name. I don't want to do that any time soon. I do, however, want to have another name that can symbolize what I'm about without sounding too corny. Currently I'm going by Romulus, but that needs to change. Greek and Roman god names have been primarily dominated by liberal leaning bloggers. Using a name like billy bob or jed clampet or something equally "redneck" would classify me as conservative. I need a fair name for someone who does his best to take both sides of an issue and come to a viable conclusion....and I haven't a clue what that name would be.

So I'm asking you, my friends, to come up with a good pseudoname for me. There are no rules, I just need a name. Thank you for your support.

Like a Phoenix from the ashes, blah, blah, blah....

I quit my old blog. I'm making a new one. There's too much baggage at the old place and it isn't really me anymore. No, I'm not going to link to it. That would kind of defeat the purpose of starting a new blog.

About me:

I've always been politically minded but I do my best not to fall into any one camp. Walking lock-step behind anyone reminds me of lemmings running off a cliff. While I have no fear of heights I'm not too fond of the sudden stop at the bottom. So I choose to make my own mind up about things. Sometimes they're left, other times their right, frequently they'll make you think, "What orifice did he pull that idea out of?"

Why "Periodically Correct"? Well, I'm not always right. Nobody's always right. Anybody who tells you that is a liar and a braggart...unless he's God. There also the part where I'll just disappear off the face of the earth for a while. It will happen. Don't worry about it. Just keep me on the list of people you stroll by and I'll say something eventually. I refuse to follow the "three posts a day" rule. I'm not a slave. I might skip whole weeks at a time! It all depends on my personal schedule and if I have something I need to get off my chest.

So take your shoes off. Stay a while. Let me put up some decorations on these plain white walls and unpack. You're in for some interesting times.
